I inherited some jewelry from my aunt and grandmother and there were several items that no one in the family was interested in keeping, so I brought them to Andre’s last weekend in the hopes of selling them. After a short wait while he helped another customer, Vahe (who recently bought the store) went through everything I brought in, tested each piece to learn its composition, and then offered me a very acceptable price to buy everything. He did the same with a few items my wife brought in. Throughout this process Vahe was exceptionally warm and friendly. He explained each step, answered all of my many questions (I’m a curious guy), and was patient and meticulous. In the meantime his wife served us fresh pastries, his assistant chatted with us, and a neighborhood resident dropped in with his giant dog just to say hi to everyone. It could not have been a more delightful experience, even more so because I don’t sell jewelry as a habit, and the anticipation of going through with it has been making me anxious for weeks. It took, all in all, a couple of hours, but I enjoyed it. Vahe is a gentleman, seemed extraordinarily honest and forthcoming, and was a pleasure to work with. I cannot recommend his business highly enough. I was not shopping for jewelry, but listening to him speak about his love of the craft of making it, I trust that he takes that work just as seriously.
